Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt joined KGGF Tuesday morning to talk about a variety of topics, including consumer protection regarding counterfeit vaping products.

Schmidt discussed litigation against companies that alleged that the defendants knowingly misled consumers by falsely representing e-cigarette products to be authentic branded merchandise when in fact they were not. The counterfeit products involved in this case included vaping devices and vaping liquids. He said that fines have been levied against the companies found to be non-compliant.
