The subzero temperatures have affected two more water mains in the City of Parsons. One is located at 25th and Stevens with the other at Heacock and Broadway. Each location creates a dangerous situation with potential standing ice on the roadway. Crews are addressing the severity of the breaks at both locations and are attempting to isolate the specific location of the breaks and control the situation. Residents that must travel today are asked to stay clear of both locations for safety concerns. As the extreme cold continues residents and businesses are asked to please continue to conserve water during this time. There is not a mandatory boil order from KDHE, however it is suggested that residents follow a voluntary boil request for water you intend to cook with or drink for at least the next 24 hours.
