NOEC Expects Power Outages

The Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative received a notification from its power supplier, stating that service interruptions are expected over the next 24 to 36 hours and may last through Friday or until demand on the grid has been reduced to manageable levels.

NOEC has no control over the timing or length of these service interruptions. In response, NOEC is asking members to take steps to reduce usage on a household level. They are recommending lowering thermostat settings and avoiding the use of non-essential appliances. They also urge members who rely on electricity to operate medically necessary equipment to prepare accordingly by making alternate arrangements for shelter.
