Shortly after noon, city crews in Parsons began to return pressure to the city's water supply. The cold weather is slowing the filtration and production process. The city expects the water supply to return to normal sometime this evening.

In an effort to assist the water needs of health care facilities and elderly care homes the city is asking residents and businesses to conserve water. There is not a mandatory boil order from KDHE, but the city has implemented a voluntary boil order as city crews monitor and perform tests on the system. It is strongly recommended to boil water you intend to cook with or drink for at least the next 24-48 hours.
