A Coffeyville man speeds off from a traffic stop and then wrecks his vehicle in a ditch. Montgomery County Sheriff Deputies were called to the area of County Road 2200 and 5700, east of Coffeyville, to investigate a suspicious vehicle.

Upon arriving in the area, a deputy observed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and pulled the vehicle over. As the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver began to threaten the deputy. After a short verbal exchange, the driver sped off wrecking his truck. Deputies removed the driver from the truck and after a short altercation, he was taken into custody.

The driver was identified as 48-year-old Jon Henry Jones V and he is being charged with criminal threats against a law enforcement officer, interference with LEO, attempting to flee an LEO, various traffic offenses and is under investigation for DUI pending further investigation.
