Miami Superintendent Apologizes for Decision to Keep Schools Open Monday

Miami Public Schools Superintendent Jerry Hogan issued an apology for keeping schools open on Monday.

Numerous parents voiced their frustrations on the school's Facebook account after announcing that they would be open Monday. Superintendent Hogan said that he felt comfortable that the school district could get students to class safely, but once the weather took a turn the district made changes. Students who missed school on Monday will not be counted as absent and will be allowed to complete any assignments missed. Parents were allowed to pick their kids up at any time during the day, to make up for any issues that came from bringing them to school.
