New KDHE Data Shows Fewer Tests Are Being Taken

 

In the past few days, the state of Kansas has reported a lower amount of new COVID-19 positive cases.

 

Testing rates have been down to start the month of February. Per 100,000 people, only 468 have been tested. In January, 4,709 people per 100,000 were tested which was down from 6,224 in December.

 

The positive test rate has fallen at the start of February and has been trending downward since November. The current percent positive rate is 5.7% which is down from 8.5% in January. In December, it was at 11.5% and 16.7% of COVID-19 tests came back positive in November in the state of Kansas. There were 533 new positive cases on Thursday and only 27 new cases statewide reported on Friday.

 

In Montgomery County, there have been 3,089 total positive cases. There are 16 new positive cases reported in the county in their most recent update on Thursday.
