Bone Fragments Found in Parsons

Bone fragments that appear to be human in origin have been discovered in Parsons. On Monday afternoon, a Parsons police officer was given a tip about the fragments, which were located at the 1100 block of East 13th Street. A search was conducted in the immediate area, but no further remains were found.

The bone fragments were given to a scientist with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI). The scientist confirmed that the fragments were identified as part of a human skull. The Parsons Police Department's Investigations Division will partner with the KBI to identify the remains through DNA analyisis.

During interviews, one person was arrested. That person, 37-year-old Dustin Eli Schulze of Parsons, was arrested on an unrelated charge for Aggravated Failure to Register as an Offender. Multiple other interviews have already been conducted by both the KBI and the Parsons Police Department.
