The Chautauqua County Commission received some updated information on the ongoing COVID vaccine rollout at its weekly meeting Monday.

Misti Byers with the county's health department dropped by for some brief paperwork, but also informed the commission that it is still moving through "Phase 2" of the five phase plan. Phase 2 consists of giving the vaccine to high critical workers and those who are 65 years of age or older, although the priority goes to the workers. Byers said their phone lines are constantly ringing, but those who call are allowed to put themselves on a list if they meet the current criteria. Chautauqua County is using the Moderna vaccine.

In other business, county counselor Zoe Newton advised the commission on burial statutes and also on the SEK KansasWorks agreement.
