A Columbus woman is dead and another was taken to the hospital after an early Sunday morning crash in Crawford County.
According to the Crawford County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Savannah Murillo was headed northbound from 100th Street and U.S. Highway 400 when it struck a concrete culvert causing the vehicle to roll and land upside down.
Murillo and the front seat passenger, 23-year-old Destiny Sprenkle, were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted by first responders. A third passenger, 23-year-old John Schallenburger, sustained minor injuries and was able to exit the vehicle.
Murillo was pronounced dead at the scene while Sprenkle was transported to Ascension Via Christi. Shallenburger declined medical treatment.
