A Parsons man was sent to the hospital after a wreck early Wednesday morning in Wilson County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Gregory Hinman was headed eastbound on U.S. 400 near K-39 when for an unknown reason his vehicle left the roadway and struck a 2005 Equinox that was on the side of the road.

Hinman was taken to the Fredonia Regional Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. There was no driver of the vehicle on the shoulder as it had been abandoned. Seat belts were in use in Hinman's vehicle.
