The number of coronavirus cases is up 156 in Montgomery County's most recent report Monday. That brings the total to 2,244 cases since the start of the pandemic in March.

As for the state of Kansas, there are 6,731 new cases, 193 deaths and 192 hospitalizations. Labette Health ER Director Becky Mitchell said that it is yet to be seen if there is a spike in cases due to Christmas gatherings. The next set of data will likely answer these questions as COVID-19 test results start to come in from people who are getting tested after the holiday.
