High Winds Throughout Today, Fire Conditions in Place

After a particularly windy Tuesday night, the National Weather Service in Wichita is predicting much of the same through Wednesday.

Strong wind gusts of up to 45 mph are expected to move northwest through the southeast Kansas area. The NWS is advising those with loose outdoor items or Christmas decorations to either take them inside or secure them. Dangerous fire conditions will also be in place, with outdoor burning highly discouraged.

A wind advisory was issued early Wednesday morning for portions of central, south central and southeast Kansas until 6 pm. A red flag warning will also come into effect starting at noon today, running through 5 pm.

Stay tuned to KGGF for further updates, should they be needed.
