The city of Independence provided an update to its leaf pickup schedule earlier this week as it continues to work through staff shortages due to COVID-19.

Leaf pickup for Area 10 started yesterday and will continue through December 26th. Area 11 will be picked up from December 29th through January 4th. The job will then be completed with Area 12, starting January 5th and ending on January 8th. 

Leaf and brush pickup schedules were scheduled in the wake of an ice storm that came through the city back in October, but those schedules were both delayed due to a brief surge of COVID-19 in many of the city's departments.
