Rep. Estes Praises House Approval of COVID-19 Relief Bill

Representative Ron Estes praised the House's approval of the latest COVID-19 relief bill despite what he called a "completely unnecessary political stalemate."

The bill, passed on Monday, includes a $600 stimulus check for those who qualify. It also includes money for small business loans, rental assistance, and vaccine distribution. The legislation also offers assistance for rural Kansas, including $300 million set aside to build out rural broadband and a new designation for rural hospitals to maintain their viability.

Estes went after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, claiming she delayed the relief bill through partisan politics. The bill passed in the House, 359 to 53, before easily passing in the Senate 92-6.
