Motorists in southeast Kansas have seen gas prices rise considerably.
Over the past month, prices in Montgomery County are up by nearly a nickel to $1.98 a gallon while Labette County has risen eight cents also to $1.98 a gallon. In Chautauqua County, prices have only moved a penny to $2.03 for a regular gallon of gasoline. The state average has jumped 12 cents at $1.99 a gallon.
In Oklahoma, the state average is up 12 cents as well to $1.93 a gallon. Gas in Washington County is up 16 cents to $1.90 while Nowata County is up 18 cents to $1.89.
Since Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline has increased by four cents to $2.20, which is five cents more than a week ago, eight cents more than a month ago, but 35 cents less than a year ago.
