USD 504–Oswego to Suspend Remote Learning

All students, except for those quarantined or those who have a medical condition, in the USD 504 – Oswego school district will return to on-site learning after the Christmas holiday break.

The USD 504 Board of Education voted 7-0 earlier this week to suspend remote learning at the end of this semester for all students for whom it is not required. Superintendent Douglas Beisel said in a Facebook video that several districts are making the same move and that some students are falling behind as remote learning is simply not working.

Beisel went on to say there have been very few cases of COVID-19 transmitted student-to-student or student-to-teacher within the schools. Nearly all cases have been an outside contact that has required close contacts to be quarantined.

The Spring Semester for USD 504 begins on January 4th.
