A woman was killed in a traffic accident earlier this week in Labette County.

44-year-old Mandy Karstetter of McCune was driving a 2015 Fusion eastbound on U.S. 400 and attempted to turn north onto Massey Road when she was struck from behind by a 2017 Ram Pickup driven by 41-year-old Derick Spencer of Cherryvale.

The collision caused Karstetter's vehicle to spin into the westbound lane where she was struck by a 2006 Freightliner driven by 58-year-old Michael Capps. Karstetter was pronounced dead at the scene. Spencer and Capps had no apparent injuries. Seat belts were in use in all vehicles.
