Motorists that drive along K-39 will be detoured around that stretch of the highway next week.
The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced that Union Pacific Railroad plans to close and repair the crossing on K-39 at Benedict on Dec. 16th and 17th. K-39 will be closed to through traffic between U.S. 400 and U.S. 75.
Traffic will follow a signed detour on U.S. 75, K-47, and U.S. 400.
