The city of Neodesha is making some changes to its Nuisance Ordinance 1739.

Instead of the city handing out code violations, they are allowing citizens to clean up by issuing a warning before handing out any fines. The city mentioned one sensational case where a resident had $35,000 in fines, but the property was still not cleaned.

The city hopes that these changes will clean up the city and save Neodehsa residents thousands of dollars a year.
