A structural fire occurred in a Parsons home Sunday morning. The smoke was seen by neighbors of the residence in the 2300 block of Crawford. They reported it to the owners of the home and they were able to evacuate safely.

When the Parsons Fire Department arrived around 11:30 a.m., they were able to find the fire in the attic of the home with heavy smoke and flames showing. PFD got some help from the Parsons Police Department, Labette Health EMS, the Altamont Fire Department and off-duty Parsons firefighters. They were able to get the fire out with minimal damage to the home.
