A Copan man was arrested in Caney Thursday evening following a disturbance call.

Caney police responded to the call around 8:54 pm at the 200 block of North Spring. Upon arrival, officers found 65-year-old Terry Mitchell of Copan, Oklahoma. Mitchell was heavily intoxicated and had sustained head wounds that he had picked up during an altercation in the home.

There was a female victim in the home, who had struck Mitchell with a glass vase in self-defense. Officers arrested Mitchell for battery, disorderly conduct, and interference with a law enforcement officer. He was taken to Labette Health in Independence for an evaluation prior to being taken to the Montgomery County Jail.
