Cherryvale BoE to Consider Remote Learning for Elementary Students

The USD 447 Board of Education is holding a special meeting Wednesday evening to consider moving Lincoln Central Elementary to remote learning.

In a Facebook post shared late Tuesday, the district reported that it has been seeing an increase in COVID cases and quarantines that has been impacting the staff's abilities to be at school. USD 447 is closely monitoring the situation, but the potential exists that they may have to switch to remote learning.

The board will meet at 6PM on Wednesday to consider the best course of action at the present time. If passed, Lincoln Central would move to remote learning starting on Friday. The district noted that Friday would be the start date due to the board's desire to give parents 24 hours notice in case they do make the move.

Students would be sent home with Chromebooks at the end of the day on Thursday. Parents will be notified of the board's decision by phone, email, or Facebook following Wednesday's board meeting.
