The Baxter Springs Christmas Parade has been canceled due to COVID-19.

The parade was scheduled for Saturday, December 5th, but the Baxter Springs Chamber of Commerce has decided to not move forward with the event.

However, if you still want to see a Christmas parade, there are some going on in the area. There will be a parade Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Columbus, one in Riverton on Saturday at noon, one in Galena on Saturday at 4 p.m. and one in Scammon on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Parade organizers encourage attendees to spread out along the entire parade route to help maintain proper social distancing. In addition, the wearing of masks are also encouraged and attendees should not attend if you or a household member is not feeling well.
