The City of Independence has endorsed Kansas Governor Laura Kelly's statewide mask mandate that was established on November 17th.

Executive Order No. 20-68 requires citizens of Kansas to wear masks when in public. It also requires businesses to post conspicuous signs at their entrances saying that all employees and customers must wear masks while in the building.

The Montgomery County Commission will meet to discuss countywide mask requirements at their weekly meeting which was moved to Wednesday morning at 8 a.m.
