A woman from Independence was arrested in Caney for driving under the influence over the weekend.

The 35-year-old woman, who was identified as Kimberly Marie Best, was weaving towards oncoming southbound traffic on Highway 75.

After investigation and a sobriety test, it was confirmed that Best had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol and had a child in the vehicle.

Best was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail on counts of driving under the influence and felony child endangerment.
