A 36-year-old man has been arrested after leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a chase through Neosho and Wilson Counties.

Chanute PD tried to initiate a traffic stop with a GMC pick up in the area of 1500 West Main Street. The vehicle refused to stop, traveling west. The vehicle stopped briefly in the 1600 block of West Main and let out a passenger before driving off, still refusing to stop. The vehicle continued out of town and the Kansas Highway Patrol and Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks joined the pursuit. The vehicle left the roadway in Wilson County, pulling into a bean field where the driver was taken into custody.

Joseph Michael Leftwich was arrested for driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
