USD 447-Cherryvale Superintendent Dr. Shelly Kiblinger has announced that she plans to retire after the academic year.

Fifteen years ago, she had promised her husband that she would retire with him when the time would come. Kiblinger said that she has loved her job and the district, but she loves her husband more.

She said that she wants to continue devoting herself to the safety and success of Cherryvale students through the end of this year to assure that her successor has a smooth transition going into next year.

Kiblinger still plans to stay in Cherryvale for many years to come and she looks forward to opportunities to volunteer in the community and for the school as well.
