The City of Independence, in conjunction with AWOL Humane Society, is seeking proposals for the installation of an HVAC unit in the dog kennel portion of the AWOL building.

 

The dog kennel currently is heated by two wall-mounted gas heaters and has no A/C. Cooling is obtained by several exhaust fans located in the kennel. One of the most critical requirements of a renovated HVAC system is to properly minimize disease spread among animals.

 

The amount of fresh air make-up, the hourly rate of air exchange, heat and cooling recapture, air filtration, and purification are essential components of this design.
