Two Women Injured in Crawford County Crash

Two women, including a 24-year old from Coffeyville, were injured in a crash around noon yesterday near Pittsburg.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Shania Baker of Frontenac was south on South 200th Road approaching K-126 when she failed to yield to an eastbound Mack truck driven by 29-year-old Jacob Lovewell of Pittsburg. Lovewell's truck hit Baker's vehicle on the passenger side which sent the car into the northbound ditch. The truck came to rest in the southbound ditch.

Baker and her passenger 24-year-old Courtney Cannici of Coffeyville both suffered serious injuries and were transported to Via Christi of Pittsburg and Freeman Health in Joplin respectively. Lovewell was uninjured in the wreck.
