Heavy Area Voter Turnout

Election turnout in Montgomery County appears to be mirroring the rest of the nation with near-record numbers of voters participating.

The Montgomery County Clerk’s Office mailed out 3,430 advance ballots with 2,637 of those being returned by last Friday.  An additional number of ballots that were received in the mail yesterday.  The Clerk’s office reports that another 1,461 people voted in-person at the Courthouse.  Those numbers indicate 4,098, plus those whose ballots were received Monday voted in advance of today's general election.

A canvass of several polling places in Coffeyville and Independence witnessed heavier than normal voter turnout.
