The Galena Police Department was dispatched near 19th and Galena Avenue early Thursday evening where a woman exited her vehicle and frantically ran into the woods.

Galena PD and Cherokee County Sheriff Deputies began searching for the woman. At the time of the incident, it was unclear why the woman had left her vehicle. After a 90 minute search, she was found in another vehicle and she revealed that she was looking for her dog. The woman was identified as Daisy Anderson and both she and her pet are both safe.
