A man had a mental episode at Caney City Hall Tuesday, according to Caney Police Chief Kevin Kitterman.

The man attempted to break into both the police and city clerk's entry doors which were locked. He then went to the city clerk's customer service counter and grabbed some items from inside and threw them in front of the building.

An officer, who was in the building at the time, then approached the man who was speaking incoherently. After talking to him for a brief period, he put the man in handcuffs for everyone's safety. 
 

He was then taken to a local mental health facility, but they refused to evaluate him. 
 

After this, he was picked up by a group of the man's friends and taken to a treatment facility in Oklahoma.
