KBI: Victim of Reported Officer-Involved Shooting in Montgomery County Died of Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

 

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says that the victim of what was reported as an officer-involved shooting in Montgomery County last week actually died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

 

In an update released by the KBI todaythe agency says that the autopsy of 32-year-old Wesley Jordan of Hot Springs, Arkansas indicated Wesley died of a self-inflicted gunshot which is consistent with investigative findings.

 

The incident took place last Friday afternoon south of Independence on the State Lake Road west of 10th Street.  In today’s statement, the KBI said the investigation is still on-going, and once it’s concluded the findings will be turned over to the Montgomery County Attorney’s Office.
