A 28-year-old Parsons man has been arrested for a laundry list of charges including domestic battery.

Parsons Police were called to Prairie Village Apartments for a report of an argument with a weapon involved. Officers spoke to a witness at the scene who denied anything had happened. Officers left the apartment complex only to be called back a short time later and talked to another woman at the apartment complex.

After an investigation, it was discovered that a woman was forcefully taken from the laundry room back to an apartment by a man with a gun. The suspect allegedly used the firearm to hit the woman in the head and then grabbed her around the neck. The man was reported to have kicked and stomped her as well. During the incident, the suspect fired the gun at a closet in the apartment. The woman was finally able to escape and had a neighbor call the police.

Police arrested Nahum Nehemiah Brown for Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Kidnapping, Criminal Discharge of a Firearm at an Occupied Dwelling, Aggravated Endangering a Child, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 28-year-old Dakeshia Shantae Reece was also arrested for felony Interference with Law Enforcement and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
