A student at Jefferson School in Independence has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Montgomery County Health Department.

Per the school's protocol, all areas the student has used over the past several days have been temporarily closed off to be disinfected. The student will not be able to return to school until the county health department deems it safe.

All close contacts have been notified and they will not be able to return to school for 14 days, however, they will have access to remote learning. If you have questions, please contact Superintendent Rusty Arnold at 620-496-4706.
