A man and woman were arrested over the weekend on multiple charges including domestic battery and drug possession.

 

Chanute PD responded to the area of 300 block south Highland for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers noticed an adult male running away from a residence. After a short foot chase, he was stopped and detained. Officers also made contact with an adult female and a couple of young children in the home.

 

During the investigation, officers were able to obtain a search warrant for illegal narcotics. After the warrant was served, Officers arrested 30-year-old Zachary Austin Jesseph for domestic battery, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 35-year-old Amanda Nickel was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

They both were transported to the Neosho County Jail without incident.
