Traffic Stop Leads to Drugs and Gun Arrest

 

Parsons police arrested a man during a traffic stop yesterday after drugs and a weapon was found in the vehicle.

 

Parsons Police Sergeant Joel Franklin witnessed a vehicle that was driving left of center and traveling 12 MPH over the speed limit in the 500 block of South 26th. Sergeant Franklin made a traffic stop and was immediately given a false name by the driver. Sergeant Franklin noticed the presence of marijuana in the vehicle and after a search, the true identity of the driver was discovered to be 27-year old Clarence Lee Williams.  Williams was in possession of illegal narcotics, marijuana, paraphernalia, and a firearm.

 

Williams was arrested for three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Interference with Law Enforcement, Sale and Distribution of Marijuana, Sale, and Distribution of Other Certain Illegal Drugs, Aggravated Weapons Violation, Suspicion of Driving under the Influence, No Valid Driver's License, and multiple traffic violations.

 

Williams is currently being held at the Parsons Police Department.
