Fort Scott USD 234 Changes Quarantine Policy

Earlier this week, the Fort Scott USD 234 school board approved in a 4-3 vote to allow close contacts of a student or staff member who is a symptomatic, confirmed COVID-19 case while at school that they do not have to go into quarantine if they are wearing a mask. Due to this policy change, students who were sent home to quarantine as a close contact last Friday will be allowed to return to school.

Based on the decision of the board, parents who would prefer to have their child become a remote learner or attend in-person will be allowed to make a change. The school district will require the parent to contact the child’s school to make them aware of the change.

The wearing of masks at school is still in place for the school district.
