Enrollment Numbers Decline Across the Board

 

Preliminary 20th-day enrollment figures released by the Kansas Board of Regents show a decrease statewide in enrollment at public higher education institutions, including Coffeyville and Independence Community College.

 

At CCC, the headcount went from 1,760 last year to 1,381 students this year, which is a loss of 21.5%.  ICC didn't fare much better as their headcount decreased from 882 to 798 which was a drop of 9.5%. Labette Community College also saw a drop from 1,636 to 1,419 which is a loss of 13.3% Community colleges experienced an average decrease of 14.1 percent. The average decrease in headcount at state universities was 3.5 percent, while technical colleges saw an average drop of 9.4 percent.
