The Kansas Food Bank along with Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas in Coffeyville and Community Access Center in Independence, are introducing a USDA program to help provide monthly food boxes to low-income seniors. The Commodity Supplemental Food Program will be available in Montgomery County to persons age 60 and above who qualify by meeting income requirements. The distribution will start in November.
Interested seniors must fill out an application, provide proof of ID, proof of income, and proof of address. Once approved, they will receive a monthly box. Applications can be picked up at CHC-SEK, CAC of Independence, or received via mail by calling Kansas Food Bank at 316-265-3663.

Daily 7 am to 7 pm (regular clinic hours)
Community Access Center
307 ½ W Pecan, Independence KS
Monday – Friday from 10 am to 3 pm
Both locations can assist with application completion as well as copying the required documents listed above.
