The Cherryvale Police Department is wanting to inform residents about phone scammers targeting Cherryvale citizens.

A majority of the calls are showing a New Jersey or California caller ID, but in some instances even using local numbers. Some of the scammers are telling potential victims that they will have a warrant put out for their arrest, which is inaccurate. Cherryvale PD also wants citizens to spread the word with the elderly who are not as active on social media as they have been a primary target for these scams.
