The Kansas Department of Labor has recognized that there has been an unprecedented number of identity thefts occurring in the state, recently.

The KDOL announced that these identity thefts have been used in order to make fraudulent unemployment claims. They have prevented 45,000 false claims so far.

Among many of the measures the KDOL has taken includes doubling the size of the fraud and special investigation unit and creating a website for these instances. The website is www.reportfraudks.gov which allows Kansas residents to not only report suspicious activity but also provide tips on how you can prevent this from happening to you.
