The Elk County Health Department has informed the West Elk school district that a food service staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.

The district was notified Wednesday afternoon. The staff member had not been to work this week, and had not left their home since last Friday with the exception of going to see a physician. Proper quarantine protocols for the individual have already been enacted, with the staff member returning to work after receiving Elk County Health Department approval.

No additional staff members, students or community members have been required to quarantine after application of county and state contact tracing protocols.
