The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a resurfacing project on U.S. 54 through the city of Eureka today.

Crews will mill, overlay, and patch U.S. 54 between the east and west city limits of Eureka. New curb, gutter, and sidewalks will also be installed along sections of U.S. 54. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction in the work zone. KDOT expects the project to be complete in May 2021.

APAC-Kansas, Inc. is the contractor on the project, which has a construction cost of $2.2 million.
