At the Independence School Board meeting on Monday, the board discussed which of the two bids they were to accept on the construction of a greenhouse that will be behind the tech building. USD 446 received bids from Growspan and BWI Greenhouses for construction of the greenhouse. Superintendent Rusty Arnold made a recommendation on one of the bids with further discussion with the contractor.

Arnold was asked how long it would take to construct the greenhouse.

The total cost of construction with be $34,842 with $28,000 coming from a grant by Coffeyville Resources and the remaining amount paid from the capital outlay fund.
