A juvenile male had been arrested on charges of rape.

Chanute PD responded to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center for a report of a juvenile sex crime. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a juvenile female and her parents. During the investigation, officers were able to obtain a description of the juvenile male and a search warrant for a residence in the 1300 block of South Evergreen. Officers arrested the juvenile male at the residence and he was taken to be screened by the Juvenile Justice Authority.

The boy was placed in the Girard Juvenile Detention Facility on the charges of rape and criminal restraint. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
