A Caney man was arrested on Monday afternoon for choking a female victim at the 100 block of North Main Street in Caney. 

Officers responded to the domestic disturbance and apprehended 38-year-old Shane Schmidt of Caney. Upon investigating the incident, officers interviewed witnesses, who observed Schmidt committing the crime.

Schmidt was transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he was booked on domestic battery charges.
