At the Coffeyville City Commission meeting Tuesday night, it was brought to attention that the city spends nearly $36,000 a year on cutting down weeds. Commissioner Robert York feels that money could be going to other more important projects.

Additionally, nuisance cleanups around the city have cost Coffeyville $17,415. The commission hopes that the city can be more responsible for cleaning up around the city so they don't have to spend as much to pay for the public's messes.

The Coffeyville City Commission meets every other Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
