Chase Leads to Felon's Arrest

 

A 37-year-old man who led Parsons police on a chase late Sunday night was arrested on a variety of moving violations and outstanding warrants.

 

Parsons Police Sergeant Brice Dickens was on North 16th street when he noticed a vehicle in with no license plate visible. Sergeant Dickens conducted a traffic stop at 16th and North Boulevard. After making contact with the driver, Sergeant Dickens was informed by dispatch that the driver, Ivan William Oldenburg of Parsons, had two active warrants for his arrest from Johnson and Linn counties. After multiple attempts to get Oldenburg to comply willingly, Oldenburg put the vehicle in drive and fled from the scene. After a short chase, Oldenburg ended up wrecking and was taken into custody.

 

Oldenburg has been charged with Fleeing or Attempt to Elude, Interference with Law Enforcement Officers, Reckless Driving, Speeding, No Headlights, Failure to Signal, Illegal Turning, and Illegal Tag. He is also being held on the Linn County warrant for Probation Violation.
